Tara – is an important figure in Buddhism and probably the most beloved deity in Mahayana Buddhism. Tara is a broad name if you will for a group of Bodhisattvas that are of the similar aspect. These could be defined as different aspects of the same eminence as Bodhisattvas are considered allegorical in general for Buddhist Virtues.
Tara is a female Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism. Tara is the feminine aspect of the bodhisattva of compassion, “Mother of all the Buddhas,” and she protects the welfare of all beings and those who are devoted to her are especially fortunate.
Most of us are familiar with Green and White Taras, but there are many different forms and colors of Tara manifestations.

Red Tara has a red coloured body. Her left hand holds a red utpala flower that carries a bow and arrow made from pink and red flowers. This is her signature implement; the bow and arrow symbolises her ability to shoot into your heart, not unlike Cupid, thereby enthralling you and leading you towards ultimate happiness.

Red Tara Mantra Meaning
Om Tare Tam Soha
OM is a sacred sound and symbol, rich in meaning and depth, commonly recited at the beginning and end of yoga classes. With its roots in Hinduism, the Om (pronounced Aum) symbol is said to represent the oneness of all creation, including the earth, heavens, and underworld.
